URBAN LANDSCAPE PAINTER
Originally from Virginia Beach, Baltimore has been her home since the late 80’s. Since that time she has been a full time artist. Crystal paints mostly cityscapes and works directly from life. She may complete a small work in one sitting, but she also loves to take these small and large works back to the location for many sittings—sometimes over weeks, sometimes not until the following season. Crystal is drawn to color especially as it is bathed in sunlight…investigating the colors reaction as it is bathed warm in sunlight or cooled in shadow. While Baltimore is home and provides most of her subjects, Charleston, Norfolk, Frederick and Maryland’s Eastern Shore add to the subject matter.
She owns a gallery in Baltimore, MD, the Crystal Moll Gallery, where she shows not just her work but many regional fine artists, with an emphasis on plein air work.
She is an Artist Member and board member of MAPAPA (mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.) & member of OPA (Oil Painters of America)
